The SDG Graduate School ‘Performing Sustainability’ will hold its 5th Biannual Workshop from Monday 25th February to 9th March, 2019 at the Amissah-Arthur Language Centre.

The workshop will be attended by scholarship holders of the SDG Graduate School, and scholars from Ghana, Nigeria, Germany and the Netherlands. Topic that will be treated include memory and diversity education in Post-colonial context, Cultural policy for the arts. between national identity and international relations; writing skills; and Creative Entrepreneurship and Cultural Leadership.

As part of the workshop there will also be a Public Roundtable & Exhibition Opening on the topic The Role of Artists in Processes of Transformation

Time: 11:30 to 13:00

Venue: Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman Auditorium

Moderator: Prof. Wolfgang Schneider, University of Hildesheim, Germany.

Panellists: Jason Otoo (Dance Practitioner, UCC), Elikplim Ayikoe (Musician, Accra), Dorothea Lubbe (Theatre Practitioner, Germany), Christoph Mataeners (Musician, Germany), and Akosua Abdallah (Theatre Practitioner, Accra).

The Sustainable Development Goals (SGD) Graduate School is a collaborative DAAD-funded project focusing on the overlapping areas of culture, performance and sustainable development, carried out jointly by the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), University of Maiduguri (Nigeria) and the University of Hildesheim (Germany). The Graduate School currently has 6 PhD students from Ghana (1 at University of Ghana and 5 in University of Cape Coast), 6 PhD and 12 MA students from University of Maiduguri, (Nigeria) and 2 Doctoral students from University of Hildesheim, Germany.
